Croeso! Welcome to All in Wales.
Every Wednesday, we bring you the best of what's happening across Wales. Quick to read. No fluff, no filler.
This week's newsletter includes your Editor's Pick, What's Occurring across Wales (events, sport, and hidden gems), plus something worth reading from the site.
We're a new Welsh media start-up, so if you find this useful, sharing it with friends and family really helps us grow.
🏴 EDITORS PICK 🏴
PROPS ON THE LOOSE!
What a week. If you didn't catch the Ireland game last Friday, you missed something special. Rhys Carré, loosehead prop, picking up the ball outside the Irish 22 and doing what no loosehead prop has any business doing: skipping past winger Rob Baloucoune and diving over for one of the tries of this year's Championship. Wales lost 27-17, but there was something different about that performance in Dublin. Green shoots, as they say.
Now the big one. This Saturday, Wales host Italy at the Principality Stadium on Super Saturday — kick-off 4:40pm on BBC and S4C. Italy arrive in Cardiff buzzing after a historic win over England, so it won't be easy. Principality Stadium on a big match day is its own kind of fortress. Get behind the boys. Heading to Cardiff this weekend read our full matchday guide here

And when the final whistle blows and you're dreaming of the next Welsh adventure, we've got just the thing. This week we're shining a light on Borth Beach. Three miles of wild, unspoilt coastline on the Cardigan Bay shore of mid-Wales, home to ancient submerged forests, excellent surf, and the kind of elemental seaside experience that's becoming increasingly rare on the British coast. No chains, no crowds, just Wales at its most honest. Read the full guide here
If you know of a local event coming up or a Welsh business that we should showcase, we'd love to hear from you.
As always, this newsletter exists because of you and people who love this country as much as I do. Thank you for being part of the All in Wales community.

🚆TRANSPORT UPDATES 🚗

A470 — Mid Wales Overnight closures at Mallwyd continue until Friday 13th March (7pm to 6am). A key north-south route through mid Wales — plan ahead if travelling through Powys or towards Dolgellau.
A55 — North Wales Resurfacing works continue to affect the eastbound carriageway between J34 Ewloe Loop and J35 Dobs Hill until Monday 16th March (8pm to 6am). North Wales travellers plan ahead.
A494 — North East Wales The eastbound onslip at Ewloe remains closed overnight for resurfacing until Monday 16th March (8pm to 6am). Diversions are in place.
⚠️ Heads up: Check Traffic Wales before you set off and allow extra time on all major routes.
RAIL DISRUPTION
Cardiff Central — late night & early morning services (Monday 9 – Friday 13 March) Engineering works between Cardiff Central and Bridgend are causing amendments to a number of late night and early morning Transport for Wales services, with some trains diverted via Barry and journey times extended. Several services are also affected by separate overnight works between Radyr and Cardiff Central. Check your specific departure on the National Rail journey planner before travelling.
Ebbw Vale Town — late night services (Monday 9 – Thursday 12 March) Late night trains between Maesteg and Ebbw Vale Town are terminating at Cardiff Central, with onward rail replacement buses in place. The 23:13 Ebbw Vale Town to Cardiff Central is also replaced by bus throughout. Plan ahead if you're using this valley line late in the evening.
Manchester services — overnight (Monday 9 – Friday 13 March) Engineering works between Chester and Warrington/Manchester Piccadilly are affecting TfW overnight services to and from Manchester Airport. Relevant if you're travelling from north Wales or connecting through to Manchester. Check before you travel.
Chester — Crewe (Tuesday 10 – Friday 13 March) Buses are replacing late night/early morning trains between Chester and Crewe. Worth checking if you're making onward connections from north Wales into the north of England.
Birmingham New Street — Wolverhampton (Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 March — Super Saturday weekend) Engineering works between Birmingham New Street and Sandwell & Dudley are closing all lines this weekend. No TfW trains will run between Wolverhampton and Birmingham International. Rail replacement buses are in operation. Relevant if you're travelling from mid or north Wales to the Midlands for Super Saturday.
Cardiff Bay — all day Sunday 15 March No trains to or from Cardiff Bay all day due to engineering works in the area. Use local buses as an alternative — your rail ticket will be accepted at no extra cost. Evening replacement buses between Cardiff Bay and Cardiff Central run from 20:30.
⚠️ A busy weekend on the rails with Super Saturday adding to usual travel demand. Check Transport for Wales and National Rail before you set off and allow extra time.
